L.O.L. 04:08
Breakdown coming, cause we’re outta control and we’re losing our minds Backroads racing but the bridge is out and we’re on the redline Got a one-way ticket, for the ride of our lives to the end line. But there is something missing, get a whiff of love but it’s never the right kind We’ve been living on lies so long, everything they say sounds like the truth. We’ve been living on lies so long, everything they say sounds like the truth. “Pay no attention to what's behind the iron curtain,” it’s just the insecure OZ. While the crew of the S.J.W. are out to sea forever lost There's a devil lurking behind the iris of her pretty eyes There’s a countdown running, she’s tryin’ to lock you down with what's between her thighs Well excuse me, honey, are you offended because I might be right Just a cis male talking, but you can't shout me down while I'm holding this mic. You’ve been living on lies so long, everything I say sounds like the truth. You’ve been living on lies so long, everything I say sounds like the truth. Living. On. Lies.

Satisfied 04:38
To the mother to the brother to the mister to the sister To the beggar to the winner to the sinner to your sacrosanct faith To the preacher to the teacher to the bullies who will beat us To the overweight lovers that just wanna please us, do you think there's any chance? That we can relate? ‘Cause we all wanna be smarter and just a bit taller wanna be a band of rockstars worshipped for our taste. Won’t you worship my taste? It’ll never be enough, it’ll never really last, it’ll never be too tough, it’ll always kick your ass It’ll never be right, it’ll never be wrong, this’ll never be anything than just another song It’ll never be easy, it’ll never be kind, it’ll never be pleasing ‘cause it’s never the right size This’ll never move an audience, cause it never works live, never ever will we be full from a slice of the American pie. Now pull your phone back out and check it again, cause you could’ve heard back from a lover or a friend or got the latest new like about the latest new trend, be sure you're never behind… On those famous deaths. It’ll never be enough, it’ll never really last, it’ll never be too tough, it’ll always kick your ass It’ll never be easy, it’ll never be kind, it’ll never be pleasing ‘cause it’s never the right size This’ll never move an audience, cause it never works live, never ever will we be full from a slice of the American pie. Are we ever gonna be… satisfied? No, we’ll never ever gonna be... satisfied... Will I ever be… satisfied? No, I’m never ever gonna be... satisfied... Quiet the mind and slow it down Take a deep breath and feel the sound Try to live in the moment, meditate Whatever it is can surely wait Not satisfied. Never satisfied.

Positive 04:35
Insufferable voices from the child within Self-righteous worlds of words built to break us down so we forget to forgive Take aim and fire blindly At all the passive-aggressively never minding Destiny’s my bitch, the most reliable one I know Self-help holds you, hostage. Staring down the barrel of a constant “what if?” Opinions, they ain’t so different, well we sure as shit know every one of mine’s derivative Sacrifice breeds destruction Real work is what it takes to build a bullshit narrative Six years in a tower made of concrete Forty hours to make two shits to give Only seven people come to bear witness to a show Well, if you wanted more than that boy then you should’ve been… Positive Take aim and fire blindly At all the passive-aggressively never minding Destiny’s my bitch, the most reliable one I know Well, you can’t say that boy, you gotta be, positive.

If opinions are like assholes, I’m the dog who wants to sniff them all Stay up late analyzing all the network vitriol Frustration with my nation the reasons are ethereal OCD is just three letters but the words make nine syllables They canonize the brands to fill all the open hands Tip justice's scales, then they strip us all naked before setting bail Pacings always racing, blood unusually thin Appropriation is inflating economical sins Well it’s a white man’s game its one that even I don't wanna win Bite the hand that feeds you may you never eat again Bite the hand that feeds you, feel the adrenaline Bite the hand the feeds you, an unusual stance Stop preaching at us singer, we wanna dance, dance We wanna dance, dance Senators trying but outnumbered by lust All these special interest lobbies they’re a vacuum of trust Moral aptitude involves the tossing of stones While our future bears the burden of congressional tomes Well my ears are listening for the choir to sing of “change” While the tongues of all us singers are only busy casting blame Why do you just stand there…? Why do you just stand there…? When you could, when you could, when you could dance, dance

Keep Up 04:02
Speak of peace, hide a club Double talk, promise trust Kiss and tell, lying love Consume it all returning none Tell yourself you can’t be wrong Jury’s out, cause they’ve all been hung Something is different The outrage becoming brighter Upon the sunshine of summer Are the winds of November Maybe we’ll make it with our heads buried in sand But my guess is that it won’t be long before there’s blood upon our hands Time is up, my selfish one At the door, your bell is rung Swinging clubs, here they come Wars begun, come on boy “get some” Revolution ain’t a song No it’s a bad motherfucker and a gun Sometimes I wish I could be the one To bear the burden of a psycho’s fun Maybe I’ll make it with my head buried in sand But my guess is that it won’t be long before there’s blood upon these hands Can’t keep up, can’t keep up, with it anymore x3 Can’t keep up, lettin’ hate just take its course

about

The Hustle EP follows on the heels of the bands first EP release, Hispocracy, which featured a different lineup for the band with Dan Montgomery on drums and Jacob Doss on bass. With their next five songs, Herb & Jellyfish continues the use of complex sax and guitar layering and adds more aggressive drumming, tightly woven bass and rhythm guitars, and harder, edgier vocals. Their process involved recording each song live with the rest of the band following Jake Brooks who used a click. Layering added fixes and final solos.

Herb & Jellyfish Seattle, Washington

Herb & Jellyfish is an original five member rock band from Seattle, WA. Formed in 2016 by Bradford King. Our sound is heavily influenced by the work of Muse and Morphine. Shredding guitar solos, ethereal sax riffs, big vocals, and complex bass runs make for an unusual rock experience. ... more
